Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Why are you called Sally's Garden?
A: Sally is our Fiddler, and I like to garden. Also Down by the Sally Gardens was one of the first tunes we ever learned.
- Q: Can you play...fill in name of song or tune here...?
A: Maybe...there are literally tens of thousands of songs and tunes in the Celtic tradition and we know a few hundred of those. If we know a song though, we'll certainly play it for you.
- Q: What is worn under the Kilt?
A: Nothing, everything there is in perfect working order!
- Q: Do you give bagpipe lessons?
A: Um, no. None of us play the bagpipes. If any of us ever learn to play them we will be glad to give lessons then.
- Q: What is a Sally Garden anyway?
A: As far as I can tell, it is just the name of a particular garden that Yeats used when writing the lyrics to Down by the Sally Gardens. It is sometimes also rendered Down by My Sally's Garden.
